Greetings to all of our supporters and longstanding Afronerd Radio followers.  It's that time AGAIN, so buckle up per usual for our Sunday Grindhouse broadcast; a sonic trek through the "Blerd Multiverse" airing tonight at 6 p.m. eastern on the BTalk 100 internet radio network.  Listen to your "gamma-irradiated" AFROnerdist hosts as they unravel this week's topics a la Mike Tyson Mysteries:  more historical anecdotes and thoughts about Black History Month as it comes to a close this final weekend; a recent Forbes piece posits that hashtag slogans like #BlackGirlMagic and #BlackExcellence might be doing more harm than good by preaching "Black exceptionalism" to the AA community;  a White Columbia University professor is suspended from his position as head of the school's psychiatry department over a peculiar (and racist) tweet commenting about model, Nyakim Gatwech's dark-skinned complexion;

Our thoughts concerning the recent and deadly Russian-Ukrainian conflict and how media, ethnic differences, and dueling political ideologies might be leading the globe toward WWIII;  And what about Afro-Ukrainians who are trying to exit the country and are experiencing discrimination at the Poland/Ukraine border?

More details are coming out about the rebooting of animated franchise classics, Futurama and The King of The Hill; Lastly, Dburt came across a Marketplace.org article that highlights the growing business opportunities that are becoming more evident in the Blerd/Black nerd niche hobby space:

When Dburt holds "the microphone like a grudge" that must mean that it's time for Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review broadcast!  Listen to our weekly musings each and every Wednesday at 8 p.m. eastern on the BTalk 100 cyber-radio platform.  Listen to your Wakandan empowered AFROnerdists discuss the following issues:  we've been meaning to talk about Tina Knowles' Profiled: The Black Man documentary just as a matter of record but now there's a mounting Change.org campaign to cancel this much-needed focus on the damaging effects of stereotypes on Black male life;  comedic actor, Patton Oswalt has some thoughts/complaints about the recent structural changes with the digital comic book distribution  platform, Comixology and its merger with Amazon;  notable British actor, David Tennant may be reprising his highly-touted Kilgrave character (Netflix' Jessica Jones) for a future MCU related project;

Another issue, we overlooked......another Dave Chappelle controversy, this time dealing with his cancellation of an affordable housing project slated for construction in his Ohio neighborhood.  Is Chappelle the villain or the savior?

So Marvel's Netflix platform is being removed only to reappear on Disney plus?  Hmm..what does that mean for the future of Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage?  Let's discuss.  So legendary actor, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Madalorian, The Boys) might be eyed for Marvel's Mephisto character?  Things are getting very interesting... And lastly, DC Animated Shorts may be getting its closeup and Constantine looks to be the first for consideration.

Oh and lest we forget...Godhood Comics IP, The Antagonists are getting the TV adaptation treatment.  A Black family of super-powered villains is garnering attention?  We're all ears (and eyes).

Afronerd Radio can now be heard LIVE courtesy of Apple Music/Itunes

And so another Super Bowl ends!  Let's talk about that among other topics this week on Afronerd Radio's The Grindhouse! Showtime starts this Sunday at 6 p.m. eastern on the mighty BTalk 100 internet broadcasting network. Join your "friendly neighborhood" AFROnerdist hosts as they analyze the following scheduled topics:  well....the aforementioned Super Bowl LVI definitely didn't disappoint with a turnaround win for the LA Rams and higher viewer ratings-we give our impressions; and then, of course, there were the highly-anticipated commercials and half-time performances. Let's talk about it!; The standout commercials or trailers, specifically were a fuller Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jordan Peele's Nope, and Disney+'s upcoming Moon Knight streaming series:

Our newly anointed NYC Mayor, Eric Adams, has some interesting thoughts concerning drill music, its social media influence, and how the music might be tantamount to a threat to public safety;

Dburt has been following HBO's The Gilded Age series and has some interesting insights about the period drama unveiling the infrequently discussed chapter of Black History concerning 19th-century NYC Black elite

And lastly, our thoughts about the Tina Knowles produced documentary, Profiled: The Black Man and Showtime's Everything's Gonna Be All White docuseries.

Dburt has been enjoying the streaming version of the Reacher action-drama series originally started by Tom Cruise and now that role has been assumed by actor, Alan Ritchson (Smallville, Titans);  more Peacemaker and Book of Boba Fett news (the finale); dating guru and one of the more popular YouTuber's in the Black manosphere space not only appeared with Nicki Minaj in an interview one week but apparently has set up a tete-a-tete in a forthcoming video with rapper, Future:

New on the black horror front is a short film from the UK entitled, Night Bus and we have our thoughts:

As we approach Super Bowl weekend, we will discuss the Brian Flores versus NFL racism claims and lawsuit and lastly, Dburt took a look at HBO's new Gilded Age period TV series and was intrigued how late 19th-century Blackness was being portrayed.
