Let's just get into this, shall we?  Check out the latest installment of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse broadcast, airing every Sunday at 6 p.m. eastern on the BTalk 100 internet radio platform.  Listen to your chemically-enhanced (Compound V?) AFROnerdist hosts discuss the following topics:  well it's no longer a rumor or theory, the longstanding Roe Vs Wade statute which gave women the right to an abortion was just officially overturned and the country appears to be on edge about this SCOTUS decision; we have our thoughts; and speaking of SCOTUS decision making, it was also determined that NY law violated a citizen's right to carry a concealed gun outside the home for self-defense-the irony is that this is occurring when gun violence is at an all-time high in NYC and the nation at large; the third season of the wildly popular streaming series, The Umbrella Academy premiered this weekend; and as S3 of Amazon's The Boys chugs along, we give you our impressions of the extremely provocative "Herogasm"  episode; a recent Comics Beat piece reports on the decreasing attendance of the once-popular ReedPop trade shows and (comic) conventions, post the COVID crises;  Dburt ponders why so many rap performers (mostly Black males) are dying and/or are getting shot in high profile and violent ways without the media or the public asking simply...Why?; we never did get the chance to talk about actor, Ezra Miller's latest run-in with the law and how this affects the DCEU/Flash franchise; legendary actor, Wesley Snipes is actively promoting a comic book series that has already garnered 6-figures in less than 24 hours via a new Kickstarter campaign;

And lastly, Blade Runner turns 40 (as well as John Carpenter's The Thing) and two back-to-back horror trailers, Barbarian and They/Them

Ready to broadcast!   So let's get into this literal and special Grindhouse (Father's Day + Juneteenth) broadcast airing tonight at 6 p.m. eastern on the BTalk 100 cyber-radio platform.  Listen to your mystically-powered AFROnerdist hosts discuss the following issues: our thoughts and/or musings concerning this special "double dose" Father's Day and Juneteenth holiday weekend; yet more Ezra Miller strife and controversies continue to make the news with the restart of Warner Media's DCEU film franchise put into jeopardy; our thoughts about the ongoing Marvel Miles Morales centered What If CB series:

Pixar's Lightyear's film underwhelms at the box office with a $51 million takedown and the team ponders if the same-sex kissing scene and its banning in certain global regions, played a role in its financial performance;

celebrated Eisner Award Batman artist, Tim Sale (Batman: The Long Halloween) passes at the age of 66;  And lastly, our thoughts concerning Wonder Man Disney+ streaming series news; Obi-Wan; Star Trek, Orville, and The Boys episode revelations.

Greetings to all our stalwart supporters!  Let's just jump into the fray, citizens.  Check out a new episode of Afronerd Radio's Mid Week in Review airing tonight on the BTalk 100 cyber-broadcasting platform. And then there's the umpteenth reboot for the Predator franchise, entitled Prey, that might actually "stick" this time around and it's slated for release courtesy of Hulu:

We give our impressions of the Disney Plus premiere episode of Ms. Marvel as wel as the fourth installment of Obi-wan Kenobi, also on "the mouse's" streaming platform;  the North Carolina Panthers professional football team has hired their first transgender cheerleader; Dburt has some thoughts about the accuracy of Rolling Stone magazine's  200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time; more thoughts about the possible return of Luke Cage television or rather streaming (also Disney+);  And we finally give our thoughts about The Root's recent piece linking the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial to Black Women's woes;

Black Western Retrospective; The Boys & Orville S3; Luvvie on #RecastTchalla; Black Panther News; #KeepMarvelTVCanon Trends (Daredevil/Netflix Marvel Discussion); Crime is Too High; Heard/Depp Trial=Black Concerns? (Says The Root) & More: The Grindhouse Airs SUN 6pm EST

Howdy, loyal AFROnerdists!  We are a few weeks shy of the Summer officially starting but the rise in temperature gives one the impression that we're already in the midst of the "dog days." Well, while you bask in the sun and sip on bourbon mint juleps, check out the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's The Grindhouse, airing this Sunday at 6 p.m. eastern on BTalk 100.  Listen to your highly-favored AFROnerdists deliberate on the following topics: the crew has more recently discussed the new Black "cowboy" culture but we have never really highly the Black Western as a past and present cinematic genre.

That starts now; After a long wait, fans were able to take a gander at two popular third season premiere streaming series, The Boys (Amazon Prime) and Orville (formerly Fox and now Hulu), we give you our first impressions;  popular, Nigerian-American social media influencer, Luvvie has officially come out in support of the #RecastTchalla campaign as we move closer to the Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever and no evidence that the late Chadwick Boseman's character has indeed been recast; and speaking of Black Panther news, we must discuss cast member, Angela Bassett's positive comments about the sequel as well as alleged Namor actor/Black Panther 2 co-star, Tenoch Huerta's remarks about Mexico's racial animus;  now that Daredevil and the original cast are returning to streaming (via Disney and sans Netflix), #KeepMarvelTCanon trends on Twitter to ensure that there are no tonal changes from its original run; Dburt has yet another rant on the rise in crime nationally (and NYC, locally)  And lastly, a new Root article posits that the Amber Heard-Johnny Depp defamtion trial sends a harrowing message to Black women....for some unknown and unquantifiable reason.
