    The Mid Week in Review (MWIR) Airing WED at 8pm ET Now @BTalk 100; Topix: Comic Con @Home Analyses Continued; Meg Thee Stallion; Tyson vs Jones; Tom King vs Jae Lee & More!

    E nle o ("hello in Yoruba language), to our staunch Afronerd Radio listeners.  Welcome to another fact finding mission dubbed The Mid Week in Review-airing this Wednesday at 8pm, courtesy of BTalk 100.  Join your "ever lovin" AFROnerdist broadcasters as they unravel the following (mid) weekly mysteries:  we continue to decipher more pop culture blerdy/nerdy revelations coming out of this past weekend's first virtual SDCC Comic Con @Home event spurred on by current coronavirus circumstances; and as expected, it appears that "Hollywood East" dba NYC, is looking to create a virtual NY Comic Con too; picking up where we left off, there were still other topics we failed to address via last Sunday's Grindhouse show; an Atlantablackstar.com piece reports that investors are subsidizing African startups just not the ones created or helmed by black folk; Arkansas Senator, Tom Cotton has caused quite a stir with his remarks about US slavery being a "necessary evil":

    thoughts about the shooting of rap artist, Megan Thee Stallion and how it really unpacks the notion of larger karmic issues in current corporate black pop music; more musings about the exhibition fight scheduled between retired boxing giants Mike Tyson and Roy Jones, Jr.; just what was behind the budding "comicsgate" controversy involving graphic novelist, Tom King (Rorschach) and illustrator, Jae Lee; yet another new comic hits the speculators market and it's Catwoman #23 (guess who the new character reveal is this time);

    And lastly, maybe it was kismet that as soon as Dburt was revisiting a '17 Vulture article entitled, "Why Can't Black Witches Get Some Respect in Popular Culture?", legendary actress, Angela Bassett lowkey pitched a prequel for her portrayal of famed New Orleans priestess, Marie Laveau in American Horror Story via twitter.  Call in LIVE at 508-645-0100.

    "Not long ago, I wondered if I'd lost my soul, even my identity, by becoming a machine-and maybe even a monster. But I wasn't a monster.  I was who I'd always been. And my soul is still intact.  In fact, now my soul needed the machine to embark on its journey to the next evolutionary step for humankind. It was a journey I relished taking, the only way I could-As Cyborg."-Victor Stone (Cyborg)
